One step forward, five steps back

Day one after yesterday’s blog did not work out very well. I’ve been working long hours at my job to make up for time off and yesterday was particularly long. Suffice to say I came home feeling exhausted and unable to type any more words onto a computer screen. Rough start but any good habit takes a few weeks to stick.

If you missed what my new blog is about...check out the last entry from August  7th.

I think I did pretty good compared to today. I was really busy at work and didn’t have time to eat. After work I met up with my mum for a drink and we ate baked nachos with really heavy cheese. I figured since I didn't eat much today, most of my daily caloric intake would come from this appetizer. I’m not sure why they call it an appetizer since it comes out of the kitchen in one HUGE stack. It could really feed a whole family. It also got me thinking about appetizers. I find that a lot of the non-health conscious restaurants serve junky type food for appetizers. Where are the healthy options to go with my beer?

Even as I type up this blog I’m not that hungry post nachos. I know I’m getting up early for work tomorrow so I’m not even going to bother making a fuss over a small dinner. I’m sure tomorrow mid-morning I will be starving, but I plan to have some healthy snack options handy like walnuts and fresh cherries.

Off to go enjoy the rest of my celery dinner and some Sex and the City reruns. Tomorrow I’ll discuss more about my exercise plans. Hope your dinner was better than mine!
